Outdoor Recreation is a full service, veteran owned corporation that focuses on making recreational activities, especially boating, accessible to the public. In working with organizations that have beautiful resources, such as the Department of Conservation and Recreation and towns, Outdoor Recreation helps promote utilization and awareness of  these areas by marketing with various media, providing rentals, instructional classes, group events and camps.

B & G Outdoor Recreation, Inc, was founded in February 2002, when founder Barry Gold had a vision. This vision was to offer boating in picturesque Hopkinton State Park. Year after year the business grew, expanding to over 150 canoes and kayaks. In 2004, a summer camp was started to teach children the joys of adventures on the water. This camp, originating with 50 campers, expanded to over 500 campers in 2009. Spot Pond Boating came into being in 2005, when the Department of Conservation and Recreation approached B & G Outdoor Recreation with a proposal. In 2008, Michael Aghajanian, longtime employee and current owner, purchased Outdoor Recreation, and brought with him 15+ years of experience in Community Boating programs and 10+ years in IT Consulting work. The Department of Conservation and Recreation again approached B & G Outdoor Recreation in 2009 with a proposal for Myles Standish State forest, where a successful program is now run. That same year, the Town of Wakefield saw the success of Spot Pond Boating, and requested that Outdoor Recreation start a community based program on their beautiful common on Lake Quannapowitt.
